Forest has announced a new agreement with Hammersmith & Fulham Council to offer more sustainable and affordable travel options to local residents.
The new agreement will see Forest support the council’s introduction of more dedicated parking bays across the borough to ensure that bikes are parked safely and tidily.
As part of the agreement, Forest will introduce a range of initiatives to make cycling more accessible and affordable for Hammersmith & Fulham residents. This includes access to Dynamic Discounts, which offers up to 30 minutes free on every pay-as-you-go ride, and the expansion of its Friends of the Forest scheme, which provides 20% off Forest rides and minute bundles for low-income users and students.
The new partnership builds on Forest’s existing presence in Hammersmith & Fulham, and underscores the company and the council’s joint commitment to supporting sustainable and affordable travel. Forest will also meet regularly with the council to review performance, share data and insights, and explore opportunities to enhance the service, ensuring the long-term success of shared e-bikes in the borough.
Forest is London’s only homegrown e-bike operator, operating in 18 boroughs, serving over 1.5 million customers across the Capital. It is the only London-based operator with zero emissions, powering all bikes and service vehicles with renewable energy.
Alex Berwin, Head of Policy at Forest, said: “We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with Hammersmith and Fulham. In addition to bringing more affordable and sustainable transport options to local residents, it also marks another step in the growth of our network in west and south west London, helping to connect riders across Hammersmith & Fulham, Richmond, Kingston, Hounslow and Wandsworth.
“We’re looking forward to building on our collaboration with the council and working together closely to ensure we provide a service that works for everyone in the borough.”
Cllr Florian Chevoppe-Verdier, H&F Cabinet Member for Public Realm, said: “Rental e-bikes give people a genuinely convenient way to get around the borough and will continue to play a key role in taking climate action and boosting active travel in H&F.
“But residents have also told us loud and clear that bikes abandoned on pavements are causing real problems – especially for older residents, Disabled people and families with pushchairs.
“With this new agreement, we’re making cycling and walking in H&F better. And we’re making sure our streets work for everyone – whether you ride or not.”
