Virgin Red and Forest team up to make riding across London, “more rewarding”

Forest, London’s home-grown e-bike operator, and Virgin Red, Virgin’s Group-wide loyalty rewards programme, have partnered to give Londoners a new way to use their Virgin Points on everyday rides across the Capital.

From today, Virgin Red members can redeem their Virgin Points on Forest bike packages, turning points into journeys around the city. Riders can unlock 40 or 80 minutes of riding, or a 24-hour pass, with each package offering unlimited unlocks during a full 24-hour period

40 minutes of riding can be unlocked for just 700 Virgin Points, 80 minutes for 1,200 points and a 24-hour pass for 1,500 points.

Members can build their Virgin Points balance to put towards Forest rides through their everyday spending, for example with hundreds of retailers on Virgin Red, grocery shopping at Tesco, train tickets booked through Virgin Trains Ticketing, and getaways booked with Booking.com, on top of earning with Virgin companies and the Virgin Atlantic Credit Card.

Rewarding new riders

The partnership will also introduce an incentive for new Forest customers joining via Virgin Red. Members who are new to Forest will receive a bonus 500 Virgin Points once they complete their first 10 rides within three months of signing, encouraging more Londoners to choose sustainable urban transport. Members must download the Forest Bike app through Virgin Red to qualify for the points.

Virgin Points can be put towards a huge number of rewards on Virgin Red, from flights, hotel stays and train travel to spa day, concert tickets and epic experiences.

Expanding the rewards ecosystem.

The collaboration marks an important step in Forest’s strategy to integrate with some of the best loyalty platforms and mobility ecosystems. Forest already connects with other major mobility players including Bolt, umob and FREE NOW via API integrations, allowing more riders to access its services across multiple platforms.

The partnership comes amid sustained growth in e-bike demand. Forest saw multiple record-breaking months last year, with riders covering more than 47 million km – equivalent to cycling around the Earth approximately 1,100 times – saving more than 2,160 tonnes of CO2.

Jamie Richards, VP of Sales at Forest, said: “Forest’s mission is to make sustainable travel the easiest and most rewarding option for travelling across the city. We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with Virgin Red. It’s a collaboration that will allow us to bring cycling into one of the UK’s most recognised loyalty ecosystems, giving riders meaningful rewards while helping more people discover affordable, accessible and greener transport.”

Sam Kelly, Chief Experience Officer at Virgin, said: “At Virgin Red, we’re always

looking for ways to make Virgin Points feel more valuable in everyday life. Partnering with Forest gives our members a smart, flexible way to earn and spend points while moving around the city with ease. It’s a partnership that reflects how people want to travel now: convenient, rewarding and more sustainable.”
