Cowboy introduces two new initiatives, Connect and Core

Cowboy, the Belgian e-bike brand, has announced the launch of two new initiatives.

Cowboy Connect, described as the platform for software innovation, and Core – a bike configuration available on Classic, Cruiser and Cruiser ST with streamlined hardware and software features for the more price sensitive customer.

With the introduction of Connect, the company says it is taking the customer experience to “the next level” by providing more options that cater to different requirements of the urban rider.

Connect is built for riders seeking enhanced connectivity and will be the home of Cowboy’s comprehensive software suite.

This includes Cowboy’s latest AdaptivePower technology, Crash Detection, new Apple Watch integration and three new features built with Google Maps Platform: Share My Ride to celebrate achievements and share live journeys, Hazard Alerts – harnessing crash hotspot data to provide the rider with in-ride safety notifications; and Clean Air Routes (powered by Breezometer – recently acquired by Google – and being reintroduced into the Cowboy app).

Core is a new bike model for the price conscious rider that is aimed at delivering value without compromising on distinctive features.

Available for Classic, Cruiser, and Cruiser ST models, Core is equipped with the brand’s signature removable battery, Find My Bike, GPS, Google Navigation, and Cowboy app.

It also showcases Cowboy’s IntuitivePower and an anti-rust chain drive with a 17/48 tooth front and rear sprocket, all weighing a reported 19.3 kg.

Core is available in Black at the introductory price of £2,190.

Tanguy Goretti, co-founder and CTO of Cowboy, said: “Cowboy’s software capabilities are the most advanced in the industry, demonstrated by our existing best in class features and now Connect provides a home for all the great future innovation we have in our packed product pipeline.

“When it comes to hardware, we wanted to create a bike from day one that retained the design aesthetic of our award winning bikes but with a streamlined set of features that meant we could offer it at a lower price. It’s a significant moment for Cowboy as we are able to deliver designs that surpass the different needs and wants of the urban rider.”
