Forest builds a ‘Partner Perks’ marketplace within its app

Following feedback from Forest users requesting more access to partner deals, Forest has integrated a new marketplace into its app called “Partner Perks”.

The Partner Perks page allows Forest partners to connect with riders in one centralised space within the app with the intent of driving connection between corporate partners and Forest riders.

The riders’ request for more partner offerings has come in tandem with Forest users spending more time in the app.

Over the past 12 months, Forest has seen an 8x and a 4.5x increase in “super” and “regular” users, respectively.

Both super and regular users tend to be those who frequently engage with partner content.

Forest has 10 app sessions per ride, meaning users are increasingly engaging with content outside of their rides.

Furthermore, 40% of users are choosing to watch partner video ads to boost their free daily minutes quota.

Corporate partnerships have been central to Forest’s business model, since its launch in September 2021.

The partnership model allows Forest to give its users free minutes and makes the service one of the most affordable shared dockless e-bike in London, giving users 10 minutes free riding daily. The partnership offering has expanded from Journey Ads in 2021 to also include Video Ads (launched in 2022) and Map Ads (launched in 2023).

As the partnership community has grown, there has been increasing demand for a one stop shop location where partners can showcase their deals and where users can access Forest-exclusive partner offers and discounts.

Jamie Richards, Forest head of commercial, said: “This latest tech development allows Forest to offer its corporate partners a direct portal to its users for conveying offers and discounts of its services and products, which will ultimately help to drive sales.

“Forest’s relationship with its corporate partners makes it unique in the micro mobility space and we intend to continue to grow this marketplace to give our users fantastic access to partner deals.”

The Partner Perks page launched within the Forest app on Friday, March 7, with inaugural partners including HelloFresh, Wild, Byway Travel, Stubble & Co, Smol, Communion, ProViz, Bloom & Wild, Allplants, Lions Prep, Pact Coffee, BottleCup, Sirplus and Finlay Sunglasses.

Yasmin MacDonnell, Bloom & Wild marketing manager, added: “We’re really excited to be connecting with Forest riders through the Partner Perks portal.

“There are great synergies between our brands in vision and mission, with both companies being certified B Corps and a strong link in messaging.

“There is also a great crossover in demographic between Forest riders and Bloom & Wild customers and we believe this will ensure great adoption of our exclusive offer via the portal.”
