Communion and Forest partner to ‘spread message of financial freedom’

With a shared goal of facilitating financial security, Forest and Communion have launched a digital marketing partnership.

Communion will be reaching out to Forest riders via Forest’s in-app advertising platform, to share its message of financial freedom through the creation of “positive money habits”.

Both companies believe that small daily shifts in behaviour are the best way to reach long term goals whether they be with regard to active travel or saving money.

Communion is the first app that combines saving and the psychology of money to help people build wealth and change their relationship with money.

Each day, members save £1 and “deepen their understanding of their own financial behaviours through a short meditation designed to help them buffer themselves against pressure to spend,” according to Communion.

All members earn 4.34% AER (variable) as standard in an FSCS-protected savings account. Users can boost their earnings by an extra 5.6% when they complete savings streaks and invite friends to join them in the app, bringing their potential return up to 9.94%.

Communion will specifically be using Forest’s SaaS platform to share its adverts via the app’s Video Ads functionality, where users are rewarded with free minutes for watching partner videos as well as the company’s recently launched Partner Perks platform.

Communion becomes the 100th corporate partner to be added to the Forest’s platform.

Jamie Richards, Forest head of commercial, said: “Bringing Communion into the Forest Corporate Partner community has been wonderful, they’re such a natural fit.

Both of our companies focus on trying to encourage people to make small changes to their daily habits, for the better. Moreover, both of our companies understand the fragility of leading expensive lifestyles and seek to find ways to support people financially – whether that be via free minutes cycling or encouraging small daily contributions to a savings pot. We hope our users love this partnership as much as we do.”

Via Forest, Communion is offering an exclusive promotion allowing users who open a Communion account and save their first £1 to get a 30 minute free ride with Forest.

The partnership will run through to summer 2024.

Izzy Wood, of Communion’s founding team, added: “Much like Forest’s mission to make the world a better place one pedal at a time, we exist to help people build a habit that will put them in the best position to grow their money and make better financial decisions, £1 and one day at a time.

“To us, every pound saved is one less pound to give away – it’s an act of defiance against a world that just wants us to spend relentlessly.

“Together with the Forest team, we believe small acts of empowerment can bring about big change and we’re delighted to be collaborating with them on this partnership.”
