Applications open for Share The Joy community cycling fund

Share The Joy – the partnership initiative from LCC and Lime, with support from Loud Mobility – is a community cycling fund which awards grants to projects that help encourage more people to cycle.

Funding is awarded four times a year to cover core costs, project costs, or new equipment. The average grant awarded is £2,500, but ‘exceptional cases and brilliant ideas’ will receive more, with the Share The Joy team encouraging interested parties not to hold back when applying.

For London-based community groups, applications can now be submitted

Grants are awarded to groups or ideas that demonstrate potential in one of three categories. Projects that support groups underrepresented in cycling, or that may have difficulty accessing funding from elsewhere, are given additional priority.

1. Health & Wellbeing
For organisations or cycling projects that improve physical and mental wellbeing or tackling health inequalities.

2. Accessibility & Inclusion
For organisations or projects that provide cycling support to groups underrepresented in cycling in London.

3. Skills & Connectivity

For organisations or projects that help people develop skills and access employment opportunities, as well as provide free or discounted access to active travel to enable connectivity.

The deadline for applications is 25 June 2025.
