Lime, the largest global shared micromobility business, celebrates the opening of its expanded San Francisco headquarters today, following the company’s biggest single day of ridership in the city during Fleet Week.
On Saturday, October 10, Lime riders took over 23,000 trips in San Francisco, a record that more than doubled the company’s peak ridership on the same day during Fleet Week 2025. The record reflects the growing role of shared, two-wheeled transportation in San Francisco’s transportation network.
That momentum is also reflected in Lime’s continued investment in San Francisco. At today’s ribbon-cutting, the company opens its expanded headquarters, marking a new chapter for Lime in the city where it was founded and bringing together the teams developing the vehicles and technology that power shared transportation around the world. Mayor Daniel Lurie spoke about San Francisco’s growth, the shift toward shared, sustainable transportation, and the global vehicle innovation taking place at Lime’s in-house hardware lab.

“While Lime has long been headquartered in San Francisco, this new space is both an investment in this city’s present, and a down payment on its bright future,” said Wayne Ting, CEO of Lime. “Our teams in California are designing and developing the very vehicles and technology that power Lime’s service around the world. In San Francisco that future is already in the works.”
Lime’s new headquarters spans approximately 29,000 square feet, roughly twice the size of the company’s previous space, and will support approximately 150 employees across the Bay Area. The space serves as Lime’s global headquarters, design hub and ideation space, bringing together teams working across hardware, industrial design, engineering, operations and other functions.

The headquarters includes Lime’s in-house hardware lab, where teams design, prototype, test and optimize the vehicles and technology used by riders in approximately 230 cities worldwide. “It is where design, engineering, operations, and the broader Lime team can come together around a shared goal and our company mission: to build a future where transportation is shared, affordable, and carbon-free,” Ting said. “This space gives our teams a place to work together, test new ideas, and stay close to the cities and riders we serve. We are proud to call San Francisco home, and we look forward to all that we will build from here.”
