Zwift co-founder Scott Barger joins Flare advisory board

Flare, the micromobility safety intelligence company, has welcomed Scott Barger to its advisory team to help shape the future of protecting vulnerable road users (VRUs).

Together, they are hoping to drive innovation and transform the landscape of micromobility safety.

As the co-founder of Zwift, the virtual training platform, Barger has a demonstrable understanding of the cycling industry and a commitment to creating engaging and immersive experiences.

His personal connection to the cause, stemming from a cycling accident, also fuels his drive to enhance road safety.

When asked about his decision to join Flare, Barger said: “I’m incredibly excited to collaborate with the Flare team in their quest to Protect the World, one journey at a time.

“As both a devoted cyclist and a father to a fearless two-year-old daughter, I am acutely aware of the risks faced by VRUs on the road.

“My own experience of being involved in an accident due to the all-too- common ‘I didn’t see you’ scenario emphasises the urgent need for innovative safety solutions.”

Flare has developed a state-of-the-art incident detection and response platform that leverages real-time data to create a network of VRUs.

The platform integrates into customer applications through SDK or API, enhancing their existing user experiences with incident detection and response capabilities.

With a focus on safety, Flare also provides awareness of micromobility users to drivers through the world’s largest real-time network of vulnerable road users (VRU).

By leveraging the Flare platform, customers gain actionable insights that enable them to react swiftly, mitigate risk, and optimise cost savings.

Flare also empowers drivers with timely alerts and fostering a heightened sense of awareness to reduce the risk of accidents caused by a lack of driver awareness.

With Barger’s contributions, Flare is hoping to revolutionise the field of micromobility safety.
