Pure EV and PDSL UK partner to launch solid-state battery electric scooter

Pure EV, India’s leading electric two-wheeler scooter OEM, with more than 70,000 customers, has announced a joint venture with Pragmatic Design Solutions Ltd (PDSL), UK.

With a shared vision to transform electric mobility and affordability of transport, Pure EV and PDSL (UK) are collaborating to cater to the evolving transport needs of consumers internationally.

Commenting on the announcement, PDSL (UK) stated: “The joint venture sets the stage for a transformative journey towards affordable, high-performance electric mobility, driving the future of transportation both in India and on the global stage.”

Established experience in the EV sector

PDSL has been delivering leading-edge engineering and digital technology solutions since 2010, for clientele like OEMs, Jaguar Land Rover, Aston Martin, Volkswagen, Bentley, Lotus, McLaren, Rivian, VInFast, Polestar, Volta Trucks, Panasonic and LG.

A roadmap for future development

Pure EV and PDSL have a roadmap to develop a high-performance electric two-wheeler on a solid-state battery technology platform, targeting both international and Indian markets. The revolutionary two-wheeler will seamlessly integrate advanced technology with sustainable design principles, with a mileage of 250 KM, a top speed of more than 100 KPH, and an AI-based power-train platform offering user-friendly troubleshooting, plus a fast on-board charger.

International investment in the UK EV sector

The joint venture, which is set to attract £30 – 40 million investment, will be set up at the Coventry University Technology Park, UK. Coventry and the wider West Midlands region is known as a world-leading automotive hub including for electric vehicle (EV) technology.

Product development

This strategic alliance combines Pure EV’s expertise in battery and electric vehicle design with PDSL’s distinguished engineering services by onboarding the global supply chain to the distribution network. The product will have new-age battery technology, a dynamic powertrain and advanced software features. The development of the product has begun, and the launch will be planned during early 2025.
