Pure Electric launches second generation Pure Air e-scooter range

Pure Electric has launched the second generation of its Pure Air e-scooter range.

The updated range includes the new ‘entry-level’ Pure Air Go and new, more powerful Pure Air and Pure Air Pro models. Each has been designed with learnings taken from 2020’s first-generation Pure Air and Pure Air Pro.

Pure Air Go is the latest addition to the Pure e-scooter line up and is designed to service essential journeys at a great value price point. It headlines with a 350W rated motor, which can deliver powerful thrust in testing conditions, with three easily selectable power modes from the clear centrally-mounted display, and a practical 20km one-charge range with a fast 3.5 hour recharge time.

The power delivery from the thumb-operated accelerator is designed to be smooth and very controllable. The Pure Air Go comes waterproof with an IP65 ‘ingress protection’ rating, and the frame is made of durable steel. It has the strength to support a total 120kg load, added Pure Electric.

Pure Air Go is also designed for easy pack down on the move and at home – the easy folding mechanism means that it can quickly be stowed away and its 16kg total weight means that it can be carried for short distances when needed.

The new e-scooter comes with ride-improving 10in air-filled tyres with puncture prevention fluid pre-installed for an optimal blend of grip and reliability, while braking is delivered safely and powerfully through a combination of a mechanical front brake and an energy regenerative electronic rear brake. It also synchronises with Pure’s companion app, which provides additional ride data and handy servicing reminders, and benefits from a comprehensive one-year manufacturer’s warranty that includes coverage against water damage. Pure Air Go is available in black, grey and a special Kimoa edition colourway for £349.

The Pure e-scooter range is completed by updated, second-generation Pure Air and Pure Air Pro models, developed using customer feedback. Pure Air is now fitted with an upgraded 500W rated motor, a 43% improvement versus the previous generation. Power delivery remains easily controllable, and it can achieve a range of up to 30km, while the Air now features a USB charge port for a rider’s smartphone mounted directly onto the handlebar, which can also double as a power source for a USB light.

Pure Air Pro also receives the same 500W rated motor and a larger battery cell that can produce up to 50km range, a 28% increase over the first generation Pure Air Pro. Additionally, it benefits from a premium ‘click-lock’ advanced locking mechanism, designed to make pack down and assembly even quicker and easier, while holding the stem in place more securely when on the move.

Both updated models feature the same durable steel frame quality and hallmark 120kg load limit, waterproof to IP65 standard for wet weather riding and Pure’s one-year comprehensive warranty coverage.

At launch, the second generation Pure Air and Air Pro e-scooters are available in black, grey and a special Kimoa edition colourway, retailing at £449 and £599 respectively.
