my Boo has launched its first e-MTB.
my Atakora, fitted with a bamboo frame, arrives on the market as an e-hardtail with Shimano Steps E8000 drive. It’s equipped with a Rock Shox Recon suspension fork and the down tube battery possesses 504Wh. Depending on the configuration, my Atakora can be fitted with a Shimano Deore XT or SLX circuit with 12 gears each.
my Boo has also launched a Pro version, which comes with a Fox Performance suspension fork, Shimano XT 12-speed gearbox and DT Swiss H1900 wheels. All models are made to the EN14746 safety standard.
According to my Boo, the individual chambers and thick outer wall make bamboo extremely stable and light at the same time. The fibres are said to absorb shocks more efficiently than traditional builds, and the tensile strength is reportedly higher than that of steel or aluminium. “When bumped, bamboo returns to its old shape instead of bending or breaking,” said my founder and CEO Max Schay.
