Applications for the International Cargobike of the Year (CABOTY) competition are now open.
The honour will be awarded in three categories which candidates can apply for, bike trailer, light cargobike and heavy cargobike.
This is the fourth time the award will be presented. It has established itself on the market as a platform for innovations in the young but booming cargo bike industry.
A jury of experienced bike logistics professionals will appraise the numerous new products from the CABOTY candidates at a number of test days.
These are scheduled to take place at Eurobike (Wednesday, June 21 to Sunday, June 25) and IAA Mobility (from Tuesday, September 5)
The judges will then decide which is the most suitable, technically innovative and the most economical for commercial purposes.
The three best applicants per category will be presented with a prize at the award ceremony on the afternoon of Thursday, September 7 at IAA Mobility.

The awards are run by Huss-Verlag and Logistra magazine.
“Many experts believe that e-cargo bikes have great potential, not only for private but also for commercial use. Combined in the right way they can be a game changer in urban logistics: more shipments with less emissions. Right from the start, we wanted to take account of this trend, which is important for climate protection and a change in the transport sector, with accompanying reporting in our Logistra magazine and with our award, and thus honour the innovative spirit of the manufacturers,” said Rainer Langhammer, managing director of Huss-Verlag.
Applications can be submitted until August 14, 2023, online by clicking here.
