Modeshift appoints Fusion Media as retained public affairs agency

Fusion Media, a leading public affairs and communications agency, has been appointed as the retained public affairs agency for Modeshift. This partnership will see Fusion Media provide strategic advice, policy guidance, and Parliamentary engagement.

Modeshift is a UK-based not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting sustainable and active travel across education, business, and community sectors. Over 800 industry professionals are registered with Modeshift, representing the public, private and third sectors.

Fusion and Modeshift first worked together on a project earlier this year to secure attendance by Members of Parliament (MPs) at the National STARS Travel Awards, alongside press coverage of the results.

The awards took place at the Modeshift National STARS Summit, which is the organisation’s flagship annual event and brings together industry leaders, policymakers, and campaigners to share best practice and innovative solutions for increasing active and sustainable travel.

Fusion’s support saw MPs attend the awards in person to personally congratulate winners from their constituency, as well as support from other MPs on social media. The press work focused on the results of the awards and saw positive coverage across trade and regional media.

The next phase of this collaboration will see Fusion support Modeshift’s key objectives through engaging Parliamentarians, developing policy briefings, securing attendance at key events, and providing strategic advice.

The appointment comes at a pivotal time for Fusion Media, whose Public Affairs department is going from strength to strength. Modeshift joins a growing list of clients which include Shimano, PeopleForBikes, the APPG for Cycling and Walking, The Bikeability Trust and the APPG for Outdoor Recreation and Access to Nature.

Nick Butler, Chief Operating Officer, Modeshift, said: “We’re excited to be partnering with Fusion Media to help us amplify the voice of our members and strengthen the case for active and sustainable travel.

‘’Together, we’ll engage new audiences, champion the incredible work happening across our networks, and inspire even more people to choose healthier, more sustainable journeys every day.”

Jack Mayorcas, Public Affairs Lead at Fusion Media, said: “We are thrilled to continue our work with Modeshift and partner with them on a retained basis. Every day, they enable more people to make sustainable journeys through engaging with a wide range of businesses and organisations.

‘’As the agency for movers, we couldn’t be more aligned in our objectives, and we can’t wait to work with the team to grow awareness of the work of Modeshift and help them to deliver their objectives.’’
