We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Manager to lead our bike shop's sales team and drive business growth. As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, managing the sales team, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. Sales Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets. Analyse market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth. Set clear sales goals and communicate them to the sales team, providing necessary guidance and support. Team Management: Train and onboard sales staff, ensuring they have the product knowledge and customer service skills needed to excel. Set individual and team performance goals, regularly monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance. Foster a positive and motivated work environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration. Customer Experience: Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service, creating a welcoming and informative atmosphere for customers. Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints, resolving issues in a professional and timely manner. Implement strategies to enhance customer loyalty and repeat business. Inventory Management: Collaborate with the purchasing team to manage inventory levels, ensuring a well-stocked and diverse range of bikes and accessories. Monitor product trends and demand patterns to optimize inventory assortment and minimize overstock or understock situations. Sales Performance Analysis: Regularly analyse sales data, trends, and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Generate reports and present findings to senior management, making data-driven recommendations for enhancing sales strategies. Promotions and Marketing: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute effective promotional campaigns and events to boost sales and increase brand visibility. Utilize social media, online platforms, and local networks to promote the shop's products and services. Operational Efficiency: Ensure compliance with operational procedures, including cash handling, sales transactions, and inventory tracking. Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment that aligns with the brand image. THE SKILLS & BEHAVIOURS THAT MAKE IT ALL HAPPEN. In-depth knowledge of bikes, cycling accessories, and the biking industry. Experience in car sales is seen as an advantage. Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the retail, car or sporting goods industry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse sales team. The ability to maintain composure & a consistent approach when under pressure. Customer-centric approach with a passion for delivering exceptional service. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and trends. Proficiency in using sales and inventory management software.
